Octoberfest / Marzen

Originally brewed in March and lagered until the fall, the traditional German Oktoberfest is a strong beer(about 5-6%abv) in either a fest or Marzen style.  Fests are lighter and similar to a helles lager , while Marzens are a darker amber color and more malt forward. Most American craft breweries will offer at least one version for the season.
